The club has enjoyed an annual tour since 1997 and the links here give just a taste of the fun we had. Since 1998 The "Bard of Lilleshall" (who must remain nameless for legal reasons) has recorded the achievements and misdemeanours of the tour parties in verse. These odd odes are read out on the last evening of the tour and are included here for your delight (or otherwise). Any resemblence to persons living, dead or playing bowls at Lilleshall is remarkable!

Mentions of "sticks" refer to the four walking-sticks presented each day during the 1998-2001 tours to the rink with the worst shot-difference (even if they won). These had to be used by the recipients in the approved manner until the start of the next match. In 2002 these were replaced by "Weakest Rink" medals or "gongs" worn for 24 hours. The skip of the worst rink is also entrusted with looking after "Chalkie" - the tour mascot - and must not allow allow him out of his control. Needless to say numerous ruses and diversions have been employed to try to kidnap Chalkie and if successful these resulted in a suitable fine being levied on the hapless skip!

In 2003 dear Chalkie was retired to a non-combative role as our new (as yet un-named) tiger mascots were introduced. The losing skip was again entrusted with looking after the mascot and all members of the losing rink - the "tail-enders" - had to wear tiger tails until the next match.
