The Foul-Mouthed Parrot

Heard by the webmaster from his good friend Ken Tooth

A chap (no doubt a keen bowler!) was living on his own and, from time to time, felt rather lonely. He decided he should get a pet and bought a parrot.

The parrot was quite good company, though it didn't say much ... unless there were visitors, in which case it would let rip with a full range of expletives.

The chap was not impressed by this and one day his patience cracked. He took the parrot and gave it a stern talking to:-

"You really embarrass me. Every time I have visitors you let rip with your vile language and I've had enough. I'm going to punish you so you won't do it again." With that he takes the parrot and shuts it in the fridge.

After about 10 minutes he thinks that perhaps he has been too harsh and retrieves the parrot. The shivering bird looks sorrowfully up at him and says - "I'm really, REALLY, sorry for upsetting you. I promise I wont do that again, ever."

The man takes the parrot back to his cage and gives him some food. The parrot sidles along the perch to the man, looks at him quizically and asks - "Tell me ... what did that chicken do to you?"
